No matter if it’s a presentation on display or that we listen to, in a group activity, a lecture, discussion, or anything before, after, or in-between, professional development is for the individual to develop. Why do most Professional Development Sessions I attend fall short?
Let me elaborate. I don’t want to throw anyone under the bus or complain. My reason for this post is to question the physical professional developments I have attended in the last year. Why? What was the end result of these professional development sessions? What was supposed to be my take-away?
I haven’t visited one of my favorite Ning’s in a while, Connecting Content and Technology, but this is one resource I would count as an aid to professional development. Heck , Twitter is another GREAT resource. Somehow I feel that my administration, or the School District I am affiliated with would disagree.
