Facebook Organ Donor Tool

As seen on Huffington Post, Facebook has a new niche. They have decided to monetize the way their users use Facebook, with personal stories. This article states that Facebook has created an Organ Donor Tool that will allow users to share their willingness to donate organs; similar to that on your PA state license or ID. “Medical experts believe that broader awareness about organ donation could go a long way toward solving this crisis. And we believe that by simply telling people that you’re an organ donor, the power of sharing and connection can play an important role, wrote Zuckerberg and COO Sheryl Sandberg in a May 1 blog post.

I agree with them that this sharing will benefit people in need. I can also see Facebook doing more of this with other items in need, etc. Facebook has done it again and their motive seems worthwhile. I believe this is part of everyone’s life now and the more useful Facebook can be the better off everyone will be.

I think this is kind of cool. Cause people that are looking for a organ transplant they would only have to go into the facebook account and look up people who might want to donate a organ.
