Rationale:
This artifact displays my ability to hold a professional development session that enables the faculty of Boys’ Latin to do the following: define and describe Web 2.0, openly evaluate Web 2.0 resources and archive these experiences to reference for later professional development sessions to build on and edit as a community.

Link: Can We Have Free Time?

Rationale:
This artifact displays my ability to hold a professional development session that enables the faculty of Boys’ Latin to think about how the time in a classroom is managed, especially a students’ free time. I elaborated on a specific example of a current movement in education putting the autonomy back into the students’ hands called 20% Time or Genius Hour. We defined free time, learned and reviewed the premise of 20% Time, went over potential grading scenarios of the project, and thought of potential 20% Time projects that we would pursue if we were allotted this time in our careers.

Rationale:
This artifact displays my ability to hold a professional development session that enables the faculty of Boys’ Latin to do the following: define what is an assessment, define why assessments are used, and to list specific examples of what type of assessments are administered. This is all in an attempt to evaluate the way we assess students and to diversify and enhance these opportunities via alternate assessments; i.e. Web 2.0 resources.

Rationale:
This artifact displays my ability to put together a technology strategic plan for a Charter School. It shows my understanding of Education Technology Goals and Strategies throughout a school. Additionally,this artifact exemplifies my ability to plan long-term goal technology goals throughout various departments of a school as well as steps to monitor, update, and modify these goals dependent on the needs of an organization. In one of my graduate programs I was asked to create a technology plan that would directly impact my district.

Rationale:
This artifact displays my willingness to improve the Professional Development in Technology Integration for the faculty and staff at Boys’ Latin of Philadelphia Charter School. At the end of every Professional Development session, that I am responsible for, I request that every participant fill out one of these surveys. I make the surveys are available via QR code and http://tinyurl.com/PD-hastysurvey, for convenience. My goal is to provide contemporary technology training in tools that would make processes easier for the staff and teachers, as well as enable students to learn more efficiently.
